Viju B is the author of Flood and Fury (Penguin, 2019). He is also the Resident Editor of the Times of India, Kerala, specializing in reporting at the intersection of development, ecology, and culture. His debut book Flood and Fury: Ecological Devastation of the Western Ghats chronicles the 2018 Kerala floods as a stark warning of environmental ruin across the 1,600-km UNESCO World Heritage region spanning six states.

Traveling from Kerala to Maharashtra, he documents large-scale mining, quarrying, deforestation, and water mismanagement while weaving in community struggles, micro-histories, and cultural narratives of the Ghats' inhabitants.His ecological journalism exposed the Rs 50,000 crore Sindhudurg mining scam in the Western Ghats, halting destructive operations.

In Mumbai, he covered pivotal events including the 26/7 floods, 26/11 terror attacks, and Gujarat riots, and joined the team uncovering the Adarsh Building scam that forced Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan's resignation.
