Endlessly Green
Emerging VoiceSavita Hiremath is a Bangalore-based independent journalist, author, and environmental practitioner working across science communication, grassroots activism, and public writing. With over fourteen years of hands-on experience in solid waste management and community-led environmental action, she is the author of Endlessly Green: Solid Waste Management for Everyone (Simon & Schuster/Yoda Press, 2021), which received the Honour Book Award in the Business category at the Green Literature Festival, 2022.
She founded the widely read Endlessly Green blog, which won the Social Media for Empowerment International Award(2018), and was recognised by The Times of India for pioneering a zero-waste community model later recommended for replication across Karnataka. A trustee of SWMRT, Savita has spoken at platforms including ISRO, ISTRAC, ICMR, Greenpeace, and public institutions. She is currently working on a magic-realist novel set in 1940s Karnataka, where ecological knowledge embedded in land and memory intersects with women’s lived experience amid the Razakar violence.
